Stroking the Crankshaft

One of the more expensive modifications that you can do to the Ford 2.3L engine is to install a crankshaft with a longer stroke. This will increase the cubic inches of the engine. The simplest way to stroke the engine is to put in the 1998-2001 2.5L crankshaft, rods and pistons. For a lot of effort, you will get about a 10% increase in low end torques

Race Engineering's Stroker Crankshaft

You have to be a pretty dedicated Ford 2.3L enthusiast as the price is quite high in the $1500 to $2000 range. Esslinger Racing is one leader in the 2.3L performance field and and Race Engineering has an excellent selection of kits
